DONIPHAN — Leonard J. Consbruck, 89, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, surrounded by his family at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner, with the Revs. Loras Grell and Dennis Hunt officiating. Burial with military rites by Doniphan American Legion 300 will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Giltner.Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a rosary at 7 at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings, with family present 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.Memorials may be given to Leonard J. Consbruck Memorial Fund. Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.Leonard was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Juniata to Anthony and Frances (Hemberger) Consbruck. He married Lillian E. Klein on Aug. 26, 1950. Leonard served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1948, where he was stationed at Camp Polk in Louisiana and in Japan.He farmed sorghum, wheat and corn in the area for many years. Leonard was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1123, and Doniphan American Legion 300 where he was a past Commander. He was a past member of the National Farmers Organization. Leonard bowled for many years, played cards, and attended many activities for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Consbruck, James Consbruck, Jerome Consbruck, and Joe Consbruck; sister, Bernadine Harms; one brother-in-law; and six sisters-in-law.Survivors include his wife, Lillian Consbruck of Doniphan; daughters and spouses, Charlene and Val Hunt of Orleans, and Kathleen and Keith Ballard of Lincoln; sons and spouses, Ron and Cindy Consbruck, Gary and Paula Consbruck, all of Giltner, and Eugene and Laurie Consbruck of Doniphan; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Consbruck of Hastings; and sisters-in-law, Therese Mangers of DeKalb, Ill., a...
